[It had been a toss up between Hope and Tranquility as to who to go see first. They were both equally Apollo like. Hope definitely had that healing thing going for him, he was bright and sunny, and Tranquility was well, chill. Although Will hoped not chill enough to start spouting haiku's. And while he didn't know Tranquility yet, Will had a feeling Apollo and he would get along. Probably enjoy a relaxing day with some drinks on a beach and forget all about the world. His dad did that once for a couple hundred years. Came back to Olympus to find the Black Death running rampant because that's what happens when you chill out and don't pay attention.

Will walked into the temple as he had with Hope and started talking.]

So, I don't really have anything I need to talk to you about.I just kind of wanted to meet you, and get a sense of you and the other gods here individually. You and Hope are probably the closest gods to my dad's domain here.

[He paused.]

Actually that's not true. I guess I do have some things I'd like to talk to you about. What would you like in exchange for a guitar? And two......I don't suppose you can like, chill the Null? Make them forget about their crazy want to completely annihilate you guys and most everyone in here? They might enjoy a nice cold drink somewhere with white sand and blue water. Cause those guys, could seriously use a vacation.

[Tranquility appears, because why not?]

Man, if I could chill the Null out, I would've done it ages ago. That sure would fix a lot of problems.

[And probably save everyone's lives.]

As for a guitar... well, sure, we could make a deal. You more into monster-killing or helping out your buds here?

[Will looks up when he sees Tranquility. The appearing thing, he was used to it. He wasn't sure what he was expecting, but Tranqulity surprised him. Maybe it was because he wasn't wearing bermuda shorts and had a mai tai in his hand?]

It sure would have. From what I've heard from them, you guys have not had an easy time with it. They've almost wiped you out right?

[So, clearly, whatever they were doing? Wasn't working.]

I'm more a little bit of both. I got a deal with Hope for some monster killing, but everyone should help out, right? Especially here. I'm not exactly the demigod with the top shelf powers. I'm usually the guy helping out the others when they overdo and screw up and get their arms ripped off.

[You were never living that one down Paolo. Once was one thing. Two times and three limbs was quite another. ]

I could always sing you a song about how grandma puts on her armor.

[yeah, the songs at Camp Half Blood were....weird. Songs most would probably never admit to during the light of day. Except probably the Apollo cabin, who was responsible for them all.]

[Tranquility doesn't even know what bermuda shorts or mai tais are.]

They killed almost all of us. The rest of our species. It's not great.

[He seems surprisingly chill about it, but he is Tranquility.]

Songs don't do me too much good. If you're already killing monsters... hmm. How about you calm four different people down when they're upset? Let me know when you're done and I'll get you your guitar.

How many of you were there? Is there a reason why Hope brought you all back but not them?

[Will wasn't that surprised by just how chill Tranquility was, just the lack of drinks beach wear. It seemed fitting for some reason.]

Calming people down shouldn't be a problem. It's kind of my thing. I'll let you know.

There were a lot more of us, but they died... well, all over the place. We all died here, in the city. Hope might be able to bring some of them back, but it'll take a long time and a lot of power, and we don't really have either.

[He smiles.]

[Will's eyes narrowed, as he listened to what Tranquility was saying .He really was quite chill about all of this, but well, that was his thing wasn't it? Even Will's dad wasn't this chill. Apollo was pretty chill, but he could also go from 0 to 90 in faster than you could say Bora Bora.]

Wait. Where there others? Like, how does it work? Were there more than one Hope or Fear per group or were there others like Harmony or Envy?

[He was already playing with an idea he had about helping Fear gain power. That wouldn't help the other gods here but.....it was a start. In order to resurrect more, well, Hope needed power, right? Will bit his lip, thinking things over]

Also, whats with the mopeds?

Harmony would pretty much be me, right? And envy sounds like a Fear thing, or maybe Rage. There wasn't more than one of us per group, though. We wouldn't need that, we'd just get in each other's ways.

[He raises his eyebrows.]

You don't like the mopeds?

I don't know, I think harmony is a little different than tranquility. But similar enough. I guess what your saying makes sense. It'd be weird to have more than one god doing the same thing.

[Territory. He could imagine how it would have gone down with the Greeks. Or just remember the two Titan Wars. Those had been fabulous.]

As for the mopeds, I guess I just don't get why they're your gift. I mean, why not a zen garden or a meditation center. Aren't mopeds more lazy than tranquil?

Cause people wanted them. Some form of transportation makes life easier, I guess, and I provided.

[Tranquility shrugs. It's not that deep.]

Might as well ask Sorrow why he made the orchard. We did it because you guys needed it.

Oh.

[That really was a lot less deep than Will was figuring.]

I thought Sorrow made an orchard because he had some connection to fruit bearing trees. Or the trees reminded him of something sad.

[It made total sense in Will's mind. But then, Will's dad had a tendency to cry over particular flowers and he knew a girl who got turned into a tree once. So....]

You really just did it for us?

[That was like a whole new concept for Will.]

Yeah. We do a lot of stuff for you guys, though Hope does the most. That's why he gets so pissy - well, and he's just like that.

[Will must be new.]

Before they brought us back, they gave you guys a choice of what you'd get. Mine was transportation.

[The pissiness sounded familiar. Zeus was like that. Well, all the gods were like that but Zeus was the most....well, we don't call the King of the gods crazy, at least out loud.]

So.....you're doing this for us. Why?

[Sorry Tranquility, Will wanted to trust you, he wanted to like you all. He did like you all. But paranoia was hard to break.]

Because you're feeding off us, or because you're just generally nice gods. Or all of the above? What are you getting out of it?

Because life's a lot easier when you're not complaining all the time.

[Simply.]

It doesn't seem to help, though.

[Will let out a giant laugh, really not expecting Tranquility to be so cool and him to, well, blatantly admit that life was easier when the mortals weren't complaining.

I think you'll find we're never happy, humans in general. There's always something we're missing, otherwise, life would be boring.

That sounds pretty frustrating to me. But hey, I guess it if works for all of you.

[It kind of ends up being more Hope's problem than his, anyway.]

[Well that was why Tranquility wasn't mortal. One of those things he couldn't understand. Like having to use deodorant. Mortality came with it's quirks.]
