The Door's way too strong for me to do much to it, especially if you're planning to touch it. I can keep you from getting... well, killed, or permanently messed up, but it's still gonna do stuff to you.

( Well, there's that. But it doesn't entirely put Kate's mind at rest. He might be able to stop The Door from killing her, but there's still a toll to be placed on her body which has nothing to do with The Door's effects, still that weight at her mind.
At least she might be able to get this off once before it wrecks her.
