( Well, that's fine. She doesn't expect this to take that long, to even be capable of doing this for more than one brief, necessary moment. So Kate shrugs. )
Only able to do this once anyway.
( A short amount of time is all either of them have, it seems. )
... this is probably why she finds hope the most tolerable god, isn't it? )
Use my power to dampen its, if it gets out of control. ( A pause. ) ... Hopefully.
( on other superhumans, this would work quite easily. It's an effective, if not temporary, fix if someone's powers go out of control. But the Door isn't exactly a superhuman, is it? )
The Door's way too strong for me to do much to it, especially if you're planning to touch it. I can keep you from getting... well, killed, or permanently messed up, but it's still gonna do stuff to you.
[Blocking Door fragments with special boxes and protecting someone who's actually touching the complete Door are two very different things.]
( Well, there's that. But it doesn't entirely put Kate's mind at rest. He might be able to stop The Door from killing her, but there's still a toll to be placed on her body which has nothing to do with The Door's effects, still that weight at her mind.
At least she might be able to get this off once before it wrecks her.
Kate laughs, a small, short bitter chuckle, at the last statement. Not fun? She wasn't exactly going into this expecting rainbows and puppies, and especially not after actually interacting with the fragments. )
Most stuff isn't.
( Especially not when it comes to working with powers, she has too much experience with the headaches and exhaustion to think that it would possibly be fun. )

( Or, at the very least, she can imagine how un-fun it's going to be.
But she can't just do nothing. )
Already investigated the fragments. Can guess what the whole thing might be like.

( She'll owe him more thanks than she can count after this, but for now... Well. Good. That's one thing down. )
